Year 6 Devon Adventure:

Day 1.

Thank you to all the parents who waved us off with a smile this morning as we embarked on our adventure. After a safe journey, we entered the beautiful surroundings of Devon where we were met with hilly landscapes, coastal cliffs and sandy bays. On arrival, we were taken to our accommodation in the Orchard wing and quickly settled into our rooms.

Shortly after, we ventured into the sky on the high ropes course. The children conquered many fears as they took the leap of faith, clambered the ropes and demonstrated great teamwork as they attempted the challenge of Jacob’s ladder. It was fantastic to see everyone give this their best effort and challenge themselves.

This evening on the menu was spaghetti bolognese, veggie pasta or jacket potatoes. Everyone devoured their food and particularly enjoyed the pudding - the chocolate cake was a hit!

After dinner, we trekked down to the beach with full bellies to play wide games. Despite the rain, we all had great fun playing games together as a group. Our favourite had to be the scream race.

The children have had a busy, but very enjoyable first day. We are looking forward to rafting, beach games and an evening around the campfire tomorrow. Watch this space for tomorrow’s blog.
