Pupils in Year 2 at Mansel Park enjoyed a parent and child workshop today, reading Purple Phase Book 5, "The Supermarket" together.

We revisited words that contain alternative pronunciations for graphemes as part of our learning today, such as 'watch', 'squashed' and 'wallet', which all make an /o/ sound instead of an /a/.

In this story, Puck gets into trouble on his roller skates! 

Pupils and parents made their own roller boots together, using ribbon and string to create the laces - aren't they fab?
