Mansel Park Year 1 Parent and Child Workshop

This week, parents and pupils read the story "The Talent Contest," where they recapped the grapheme-phoneme correspondences /ar/, /or/, /ur/ and 'er'. Parents and pupils discussed and celebrated their talents, before making their own trophies together, from paper cups and pipe cleaners!

Children were able to read sentences such as: "There are lots of different acts performing in the contest," "Miss Bus has a harmonica," and "Beff performs a trick with cards."
