Reading Ambassadors - Royal Society Update

Our Reading Ambassadors across the partnership were challenged to review six different texts for the “Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize, 2024.”

Each group was given a text to review, all of which had been previously shortlisted by the panel.

Each Reading Ambassador captured their thoughts about their assigned book, and rated it based on its ‘ease’, ‘interest’, ‘look’ and ‘inspiration’. Here’s what we thought…

... The winning book across the partnership was "Engineers Making a Difference" by Dr Shini Somara. The Royal Society have given us the books we reviewed to keep, so our Reading Ambassadors are going to swap their texts across the schools. It was great fun to be part of the judging panel and we are hoping to partake again next year! We will find out in March if our chosen favourite was the same nationally, when the Young People's Book Prize is announced.
