Lord Mayor Tree Planting

On Wednesday 16th March, we had a very exciting afternoon! We celebrated the 800th Mayor of Southampton and her becoming the first Lord Mayor of Southampton  -  Councillor Jacqui Rayment.

 Jo Cleary, an Environment Sustainability Manager, talked to us about what trees are, what trees need to survive and the lifecycle of a tree. Hiba El-ghaddaf, a Graduate Project Manager brought her team along to help us plant a maple tree in our field. We hope this tree will become a long standing symbol of our schools commitment to our environment. Following this, we created our own pledges and added them to our tree for display.
