Friday 22nd September
This week, we are thrilled to share the exciting news of our recent gardening afternoon. During this event, they were granted a opportunity to play a role in shaping our allotment plans for the upcoming academic year.
Our gardening session allowed children to learn more about the origins of food, cultivating vegetables, and different factors to think about ranging from climate considerations to the ever-changing seasons. Following these discussions, they decided which fruits and vegetables we can incorporate into our school kitchen's lunch menu.
Some of the choices the children made are: pumpkins, tomatoes, strawberries, broad beans, parsnips, carrots, onions, Brussels sprouts, lettuce, courgette, radish, cucumber, sweetcorn, peppers, potatoes, and peas.
Something, we are looking forward to the arrival of our brand-new greenhouse. This will hopefully allow us to grow more, and more often, through the academic year!
We had another fantastic harvest this week which we distributed to parents and children at the end of the school day.
