Year R Update

During our first few weeks at school, we have had a lot of fun! We have met lots of new school friends and adults within our school family. Our favourite part has been exploring the base together. Our teachers are really proud of efforts in learning how to be ready, respectful and safe within the classroom. We are still working hard on remembering where everything belongs at tidy up time!

Thank you to our families for helping us with our ‘All about Me’ projects and family trees this summer. We have enjoyed looking through them and sharing them with our friends. We have really loved learning more about each other and who our families are. We are incredibly proud of our efforts and our teachers have displayed them within our classroom.

In Year R we have been reflecting upon the life of Queen Elizabeth II and all the wonderful work she has achieved in her lifetime. We have read stories that have helped us to understand key events within her lifetime. We have also made beautiful crowns, drawings, and hand painted pictures as part of our learning.

We have been practising lots of skills to demonstrate to our adults how fabulous we are. We’ve been practising counting, number formation and letter formation too! We are excited to keep getting to know each other and learning more as the year continues.
