Christmas lunch blog - 13/12/22

On Tuesday 13th December 2022, we had a brilliant time at our school Christmas lunch. Year groups came down to the hall and sat together on long tables to enjoy a meal of either roast turkey or a festive sweet potato and cranberry parcel, served with all the trimmings! We enjoyed our roast potatoes, brussel sprouts, peas, carrots, vegetarian sausage, stuffing and gravy! For dessert there as the choice of an iced festive cookie or muffins! We were very excited to be together celebrating and have such a fabulous lunch.

Christmas music was playing and for a while the air in the halls was filled with KS2 children’s voices singing along to ‘I Wish it Could be Christmas Every Day’ and in the upper hall, ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’ was a favourite with KS1 children.

All the school staff helped to serve the children their dinners and then joined their classes to eat and celebrate with the children.

There were lots of hungry children in the hall and plates were soon being emptied. We were proud of all the children who tried something they had never had before or were unsure of what their first school Christmas dinner would be like!

Our children said: “It was delicious.” Conner Y5

“It tastes perfectly cooked!” Chloe Y3

“It’s such a good Christmas dinner, it’s nice to celebrate in school with friends.” Kian Y5

“I love this turkey, but I don’t like sprouts!” Oliver Y3

Many thanks to all the kitchen team for all their hard work preparing such a delicious dinner and creating some sensational sweet treats too!
