Nursery has been exploring 'Friendship' this week. We have been looking into our families and the special people we live with. It has been lovely to look at the pictures you have provided and allow the children to explain the special people in each one.
Our 3+ year old friends have been looking closely at themselves and creating their own portrait using transient art. "What is Transient Art?" Transient art is where the children use a range of resources to create, these resources do not stay fixed in its position. The children used pasta, shredded paper, curtain rings, fir cones, fairy wood, shells and stones to create their portraits.
Our 2 year old friends have been creating hand print love hearts using pink and red paint. They also have had the opportunity to create banana oat cookies. This is a recipe containing only two ingredients with the option to add more if they wish - super simple, if you fancy trying at home, please ask. The children have loved mashing and mixing.
Our books this week have been 'Pip and posy - The new friend' by Axel Scheffler and 'The go away bird' by Julia Donaldson and Catherine Rayner. We have loved listening to these stories and thinking about whether the characters have been kind or not? We even thought about what we would do at our nursery?
