Book Fair 2023

Wow, wow, wow… that is all we have to say! We have been blown away with the response to the Book Fair this year! If you didn’t manage to catch it this year, then read this blog to find out what has been happening!

On Wednesday, the lorry arrived and delivered three cases full of amazing books! There was a whole variety of texts, from illustrated story books to interesting non-fiction (and even some fluffy diaries!).  As classes we were able to explore the Book Fair and our school, looking at different genres and authors to write our very own wish list of books we would love to read in the future! The children loved looking for new authors and immersing themselves in the books. Some teachers even read a snippet of a book as a preview of what is to come!

Then afterschool on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday families were invited into school to browse the books. We were astounded with the buzz and atmosphere surrounding the Book Fair. Families and children showed a real passion and love for reading! We cannot believe that Book Fair raised a staggering £1328.76! Scholastic will kindly donate £797.26 worth of books to our school library for our children to enjoy at school and at home.

We also ran a competition to draw a book cover to win a £5 book voucher! All the entrees were phenomenal. The winners were… Grace, Myley, Lily-Rose and Jack. Well done to all the winners!
