Year R learning blog - 16/12/22

This half term our role play home corner has transformed from a Diwali home to a Christmas cottage! During our Diwali unit the children loved to dress up in the Diwali costumes and learn all about the festival of light. We made rangoli patterns and dija lamps to help us learn about this Hindu celebration.

The children were very excited to arrive in school and see the elves had been to work. We had a hot chocolate making station, cookie baking area and of course a Santa’s grotto. We also used our outside area to make an Elf’s workshop. We wrapped Christmas presents, wrote Christmas labels, made Christmas cards and decorations for our tree. We loved practicing lots of Christmas songs and performing them on stage for our families.
