World Book Day 2024
World Book Day is fast approaching - make sure you have put Thursday 7th March in your diary! To add to the day’s enjoyment, all the children (and even the staff!) will have the
opportunity to dress up if they wish as their favourite book character for the day.
Please do not feel that you need to go to any expense to provide a costume for World Book Day. The below websites have many easy ideas that might provide some inspiration!

We have two competitions running as part of the day, for all pupils in Years R-6, we are running an 'Extreme Reading' competition! All children need to do is to send in a photograph of them reading somewhere ‘extreme’ to showcase their love of reading at any time, any place! The winner at each partnership school will receive a £10 book voucher, with the overall winner receiving a £20 voucher! Please email your child’s Extreme Reading photo in to your school office by Friday 1st March. Don’t forget to state your child’s name and class in the email.
We are also running a Pip and Pap competition for pupils in Years R-2. Children need to design their own Pip and Pap front cover, for their own adventure story, which will be brought to life by series illustrator David Tomkins! This competition closes on Monday 26th February (to give our illustrator time to create the winning design!) and the lucky winner will also receive a Pip and Pap Book of their choice! Please hand your entries into the office or email them in!
Finally, please find below a range of activities that you may like to complete as a family in the run up to the event, which have been provided by World Book Day.
