Year 1 Tall Tree Walk

The Mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood.... oh wait, this isn't The Gruffalo!

Year 1 took a stroll through the deep dark woods! Yes that's right, Year 1 went on a trip to the Rhinefield Tall Tree Walk this week. The children were amazed to see the incredible Sequoia trees. They could not believe their eyes when they saw how tall and wide the trunks were. On the walk, the children explored tree roots, stumps and even went into some dens! The children learnt that a tree's roots are as long as the tree, that is so interesting! The children also collected different leaves, twigs and pinecones. They felt the different textures and identified the different colours. We are now going to apply our knowledge of the forest to our upcoming Gruffalo stories.

We can't wait for you to read them!
