Reading Ambassadors Update:

Our Reading Ambassadors have been busy in the library creating a 'Spotlight' display to showcase authors, illustrators and famous figures from history, as part of our celebrations for Black History Month during October.

They led a special assembly in school, showcasing the books we have in our library and discussing the works of famous authors, such as Malorie Blackman and Sharna Jackson.

We study many texts from Black authors and illustrators as part of our reading curriculum, which you can access HERE. We also learn about the lives and achievements of many important figures throughout history, such as Walter Tull, Martin Luther King and Wangari Maathai as part of our wider curriculum.

There are many wonderful texts for children that celebrate the works of authors and illustrators of Black heritage, to be enjoyed all year round! Follow this link HERE to find out more.
