Nursery blog:

'Our 3 year old friends are continuing to have great adventures with Pip and Pap. We have carefully looked at a "P/p/p/p/potato, P/p/p/pumpkin, P/p/p/peas" We are now beginning to hear the initial letter from our vegetable patch story. You can always try this at home, ask your child "what sound can you hear when I say... Potato/ Pip/ Pap/a name/ mummy/ daddy". We have been trying really hard to work out how many syllables are needed when we say our vegetable names. We have been associating the syllables with the clap or taps we need to say the word, for example Potato needs 3 claps Po-ta-to.

Our three year old friends have been exploring activities that link with our focus story 'Goldilocks and the three bears'. We  have had great fun making and tasting porridge, sorting bears into sizes - big, medium/ middle sized and small, while learning our new goldilocks rhyme.

Our 2 year old friends have been really busy too. They have been exploring bubbles and brushes in the garden, we loved this so much we filled our wellies from jumping in the puddles. We have also been exploring a tuff tray full of paint, listening to the story 'Toddle waddle' and exploring playdough using our hands only.

We are continuing to work on following a simple routine for our 2 year old friends. A simple routine helps our two year olds to feel safe and comfortable while helping them to learn and begin to form secure bonds with all nursery staff.'
