Where's Wally Fun Run:

We would just like to extend a very big thank you to everyone who partook in our Where’s Wally Fun Run across the partnership!

Your donations raised a huge £4845.38 for the National Literacy Trust!

The National Literacy Trust is an independent charity that empowers children, young people, and adults with the literacy skills they need to succeed.

The National Literacy Trust has personally supported schools across our partnership through donating new books to our libraries as well as purchasing book shelving, audio players and seating – we are so pleased to be able to show our thanks by raising such substantial funds for the charity, so that other schools may benefit too.

Currently, 1 in 7 UK primary schools do not have a library or a library space. The National Literacy Trust is working with Penguin Books to address this issue, supporting the transformation of libraries and training teachers and support staff.

We are very lucky to have such wonderful, well stocked libraries within our partnership schools, and we hope that the funds we have raised through our fun run will help to support other primary schools with developing their library spaces; to promote a love of reading for pleasure in children around the country.

Totals raised by each school:

Bitterne Park: £1257 + £296.75 Gift Aid

OLSJ: £310 + £74.50 Gift Aid

Sinclair: £676.50 + £159.63 Gift Aid

HF: £976 + £215.25 Gift Aid

Mansel Park: £889 + £206 Gift Aid

£4,108 plus gift Aid = £4845.38!!
