On your marks, get set, RACE!

On Tuesday 11th June, key stage two had a great day at the sports center with 16 other schools at City Athletics Southampton. The sun was shining and everyone was excited for the activities ahead which included a variety of distances for the runners, as well as different jumping and throwing events. The children put great effort into every event they were part of and it was just as amazing to hear all the children cheering on their peers from across the school. The children showed our school values of ready, respectful and safe throughout the whole day and made us all proud. The school achieved 41 points in all competitions as opposed to the 24 we achieved last year. Absolutely fantastic!

Mansel Park did so well in all the events and had some great results. An extra special well done for Sophia in year 3, Skye in year 5 and Jasmine and Jack in year 6 for getting into the finals of their races! Also, a massive applause for Chloe G getting 3rd in the 60m sprint. Harry C getting 3rd in the ball throw and Olek in year 6 getting 3rd place in the 800m race! What a great achievement!

It was a fantastic day for all the children, gaining some valuable experiences and sharing their achievements.
